I like doing selfless service (seva) because it shows me the power of giving. I get to give several loving hours out of my week to bring joy to hundreds of people. It’s also a friendly reminder that we’re all human beings and that we’re all on this planet for only a short while.
We love volunteering at Food For Life Corp because this non-denominational organization works with the sole purpose of serving the homeless and the needy by preparing fresh food and providing clothing. It gives us great satisfaction serving them first hand and bringing cheer on their faces.
Food For Life Corp is a faith-driven initiative that seeks to provide Atlanta homeless with both physical and spiritual nourishment through freshly prepared meals. I joined the Food4life team so that I could serve others outside of myself. Among the hustle and bustle of my own daily life, it is easy to forget the plight of others. But every Saturday, I have the honor of preparing hot meals with a sincerely caring group and then serving these meals face-to-face to the community. I hope that, through Lord Krishna’s grace and our helping hands, we are able to feed some souls with good food and God’s love.
Thanks for Food for Life Corp team and ISKCON Community for doing such a great service and given me opportunity to serve. Every Saturday feeding vegetarian food for hundreds of homeless is a great service, by volunteering here gives me positivity, motivates and inspire me to do more service in all the possible ways.
